The Chocolate Rainbow Productions (CRP) is a diverse collective of artists, educators, activists, and performers united by a shared commitment to representation, equity, and creative expression. Our members include individuals from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, along with their allies, spanning all levels of experience—from first-time performers to seasoned professionals. Together, we use theatre as a tool to tell authentic stories, uplift unheard voices, and build bridges across cultures.
CRP was founded to create a safe and empowering space where marginalized communities can explore the full range of their creativity. We welcome people of all nationalities, abilities, and backgrounds to participate in the theatre-making process. Our multidisciplinary team also includes mental health specialists, healthcare professionals, and legal advocates—demonstrating our belief that theatre is not just art, but a force for community healing, growth, and connection.
Led by Artistic Director Meja Pannell-Tyehimba, CRP is committed to inspiring change through meaningful performances and educational outreach. Meja brings decades of experience in producing, directing, playwriting, and stage management, guided by the belief that theatre is a catalyst for dialogue and transformation. Through our work, we strive to spark imagination, foster empowerment, and leave a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
